With our extensive measuring and quality controls, every product meets the requirements.Total quality managment and high precision is one of the key aspects with the purpose of guaranteeing high quality and excluding deviations. When high quality and precision is important for your product, for example to minimize wear and tear, SMI Verspaning operates with an extensive total quality management system (TQM) to guarantee maximum quality of the product. If desired, we can, in addition to our own standard quality checks, perform additional quality checks.

Fully Automatic

Our high precision measurement tools creates a detailed 3D scan of the product produced in our factory. Once our measurment tool has created the 3D scan, the software continues with analyzing and measuring the product making sure that any problems in the future will be prevented.

Thanks to the accurate measuring system, even the smallest deviations (up to 0.001 millimeters) can be detected. Avoiding deviations are especially necessary within moving parts, medical equipment and high demanding markets to guarantee maximum safety and durability of the product.

The system can create comprehensive reports of series products, so any imperfections can be excluded. In addition, the software offers the ability to compare existing CAD drawings with a scanned physical product to check the correct sizes and tolerances.

Quality Procedures

The interim quality controls is one of the methods used by SMI Dokkum to ensure product quality during the entire process. During the operation, our quality controllers check regurarly if the product(s) have the desired dimensions to prevent any delay later in the process.

The components manufactured are thoroughly inspected and controlled to meet the stated tolerances. The final inspection, where products are re-measured to exclude any imperfections guarantees that every product which leaves our factory has the desired quality and dimensions. Every product is individual inspected to guarantee maximum quality for each component as regurarly done for high demanding markets such as defence and medical.

When desired to save time, our quality controllers can check seriework randomly. Many of our customers have changed from a individual inspection to a random based inspection because of the trust in our skills and expertise. The quality control procedures will be determined together with the customer to fit the needs and demands.
